The risks associated with climate change demand large-scale initiatives aimed at reducing CO2 emissions to levels substantially lower than those currently anticipated. The economic and industrial stakes are therefore considerably high.
The symposium has examined the role of technical innovation as well as the capture and geological storage of CO2 in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and also considered a new technological approaches in the light of the resources needed to finance such operations.
