Transforming as much raw material as possible to energy for transport
The waste generated during production needs to be reduced or treated and ever-cleaner and more cost-effective products need to be made available to consumers. At the same time, the trend towards heavier crude oil supplies and, ultimately, the upgrading of unconventional oils entails the development of conversion technologies, and particularly deep conversion methods.
Lastly, one of the greatest challenges facing the industry in the future will be to meet these various requirements whilst cutting CO2 emissions in refineries.
