Scientific expert assessments: an IFP mission
One of a research center’s missions is to perform scientific expert assessments. To ensure it fulfills this role, the scientific expertise component is recognized and incorporated into its standard assessment grid as part of its mission to ensure the industrial development of its research results and derived products, notably for the purposes of supporting public policy.
One of IFP’s objectives is to equip itself with a formalized range of expert assessment services, based on an expert assessment charter, which can be offered in partnership with other research bodies.

IFP expert assessments are founded on ethical principles
- competence and reliability,
- methodological transparency,
- impartiality,
- confidentiality,
- absence of conflicts of interest and neutrality,

meeting of commitments.
When carrying out its expert assessment activities, IFP undertakes to
- engage the appropriate skills for the specific remit,
- submit an expert report, verified and approved by the appropriate line managers, in order to guarantee the objectivity and neutrality of the product delivered,
- guarantee the neutrality of all those involved throughout the expert assessment.
