After-treatment

IFP is very active in the development of technological solutions for exhaust gas after-treatment. The work concerns gasoline and diesel engines, cars and trucks.

Complete and customized after-treatment solutions

IFP offers a broad range of expertise in the field of after-treatment. Our teams propose not only optimized solutions in the form of complete systems, but also specific analyses, including the EMS (Engine Management System) design strategy.

The rapid prototyping tools developed by IFP make it possible to incorporate customers' specific needs in after-treatment strategies. In this way, our teams can provide systems suited to each customer.

Testing resources

The exhaust gas after-treatment programs make use of the same testing resources used for work on engines and fuels.

Synthetic gas bench

IFP's teams also use specific methods and equipment for their after-treatment work:

  • synthetic gas units: catalyst testing laboratory,
  • X-ray scanner,
  • scanning electron microscope,
  • transmission electron microscopy (TEM and STEM),
  • elemental microanalysis by electron probe (Castaing microprobe),
  • physico-chemical characterizations: physisorption, particle size distribution, mercury porosimetry, chemisorption, ultimate analyses, X-ray diffraction.
