IFP has recently extended the scope of its ISO 9001 certification to the full range of its activities in research and development, consulting and expertise in the field of powertrain engineering, pollution control, fuels and lubricants.

This certification, awarded by AFAQ, is testimony to the concerted effort and commitment of all the IFP teams involved in its powertrain engineering and fuels activities. It is accompanied by new working methods aimed primarily at satisfying both partners and customers.
IFP's efforts in this area are now being recognized; in particular it was recently awarded FORD Q1 status (FORD's internal quality label, awarded to some of its suppliers in recognition of their efforts in terms of quality assurance and protection of the environment).

The application of a continuous improvement initiative for IFP's research and development activities enables it to optimize its capacity to innovate and constantly to improve the way it operates in order to reliably provide the results demanded by its customers and partners.

IFP is an industrial research and development, training, and information services center active in the fields of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), their uses, in particular in vehicles, and new energy and environmental technologies (production of fuels from biomass, biofuels, hydrogen, capture and storage of CO2, etc.).
IFP's Powertrain Engineering Business Unit develops new engine technologies, particularly in the field of combustion, innovative control systems for powertrains (conventional and hybrid) and their pollution control systems. Today, application of these technologies to demonstrator vehicles represents a response to a growing demand on the part of the automobile industry. The development of alternative fuels and biofuels adapted to future engine technologies is also one of IFP's areas of excellence.
