The transport industry is pivotal in any modern economy. The large scope of mobility for goods and people is not only a core feature of developed countries; it is actually a pre-requisite to development.
Identifying future energy sources for transport, cutting greenhouse gas emissions and controlling urban pollution are all major challenges that will require innovative solutions in terms of modes of transport, infrastructures, vehicle design and powertrains.
More than ever before, road transport and urban mobility lie at the heart of national energy policies, always considered alongside sustainable development issues.
Bearing in mind these crucial issues, Panorama 2009 will review the technological, environmental, economic and political advances that will shape the transport of tomorrow.
An annual meeting of key players from the political, economic, industrial and financial worlds, IFP’s "Panorama" seminar has two objectives: firstly, to analyze the technical and economic changes in the oil and gas (and their substitutes) industry on the world energy stage and, secondly, to focus on a major topical issue for the energy sector.
