Training is one of IFP’s priorities. It is achieved in three ways:
Exploration, refining, petrochemicals, engines and so on: there is a high demand for qualified staff in all energy and automotive business areas in France and abroad. Training initiatives have therefore grown sharply in number and future prospects are very promising.
IFP School is a graduate school. It provides students from all over the world with training that meets the needs of industry and society in general. It ensures their professional success through cross-disciplinary specific training and a strong international reputation. All subjects taught are closely related to industry and IFP’s scientific environment.
In 2007, more than 800 students from 50 countries attended one of the School's graduate program. The courses take place at the Rueil-Malmaison campus near Paris and on foreign sites as part of satellite degree programs (in Algeria, Angola, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Russia and Venezuela).
ENSPM Formation Industrie – IFP Training aims to train staff in the oil, gas, chemical and engine industries. Its objective is to contribute to improving their performance and the safety of operations.
In 2006, more than 1,200 training sessions were organized for almost 14,000 participants from the world over.
Doctoral theses are conducted as part of the IFP School doctoral college, within the IFP research divisions.
The preparation of doctoral theses meets four priorities:
- training of research engineers with resource potential for the industries concerned (energy, chemical, automotive) and for IFP,
- conducting exploratory research,
- establishing closer relations between research centers and external laboratories,
- contributing, in the field of future transport energies, to France’s international reputation for scientific and technical research.
In 2007, 180 doctoral researchers from 25 countries prepared their theses at IFP.
