This acquisition of a majority holding is integral to the growth strategy of IFP's Engines activity, as it means that a subsidiary specializing in the engineering and marketing of engine testing facilities and powertrains has now been added to the pre-existing Research and Development activities.

In addition, Pascal Gilbert has been appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer by D2T's Board of Directors, replacing Daniel Drecq, the company's founder, who will continue to work alongside the current CEO as Development Strategy Advisor.

Pascal Gilbert, a graduate of the Ecole Navale (French Naval School) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (Aeronautics and Space Engineering School), previously managed research and development activities in the field of transmissions and hybrid drive trains at PSA.

The IFP-D2T combination now represents the leading Power Train Development Center in France, apart from the two major national car manufacturers. D2T now wants to exploit this strength and pursue its development strategy, with the aim of becoming the benchmark player in its markets, both nationally and internationally.

IFP is an industrial research and development, training, and information services center active in the fields of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), their uses, in particular in vehicles, and new energy and environmental technologies (production of fuels from biomass, biofuels, hydrogen, capture and storage of CO2, etc.).
Facing major challenges in the international energy sector - renewing oil reserves, strengthening the energy mix, and combating climate change - IFP aims to innovate, develop and transfer technologies with which to supply energy to meet growing world needs in the transport and petrochemicals sectors, lastingly and without harm to the environment, for the whole of the 21st century.

D2T is a supplier of equipment and services for automobile Research and Development. It is a world leader in the field of test bench automation, with 1,900 systems installed. D2T also provides test bench engineering solutions and turnkey projects as well as power train development services. Its global presence enables D2T to offer the full range of its services and products to all transport sector manufacturers.
