IFP Canada aims to apply IFP Energies nouvelles's R&D results on an industrial scale in the areas of Exploration-Production and the Environment.
The company is based in Calgary in the Alberta region. It works with both major petroleum companies and independent companies, as well as with service companies, universities and government bodies.

Highlights of 2009

Polymer injection on the Pelican Lake field began to bear fruit, with the production of a multilateral well increasing from 70 bbl/d to more than 700 bbl/d. Other wells are also starting to react. An expanded polymer treatment program is planned for 2010. Steam assisted gravity drainage continued to perform well in the Senlac field. During the year, the field was sold by its operator EnCana to Southern Pacific. Finally, two studies – basin modelling and diagenesis – were carried out by IFP Energies nouvelles using data provided by IFP Canada.
