Activities and markets

Axens groups, in a single entity, the activities of process licenser, designer of units and associated services, and supplier of advanced products (catalysts and adsorbents) and services for the refining, petrochemicals and gas markets.
Axens makes use of the complementarities between the industrial development of processes and of catalysts to offer its customers in downstream oil a comprehensive line of innovative technologies and high-added-value services.
 

Highlights of 2009

Against a backdrop of falling refining margins and depressed activity in the petrochemicals sector, Axens experienced a slight drop in turnover compared with 2008. Nevertheless, a number of projects are either under consideration or ongoing, particularly in Asia and the Middle East. The company has developed a solution to help its customers reduce energy consumption at their refineries and has started to market it. Axens' products and services have continued to appeal to the market. Significant successes were achieved in the fields of clean fuels, the conversion of heavy oil fractions and the production of aromatics. New catalysts and adsorbent ranges were launched on the market, particularly for hydrotreatment, hydrocracking, hydrogenation and reforming.
